ABOPevent is an open projector event for subculture & alternative cinema for international unconventional moving image art, i.e. animation, video art, projection art, and short film, outside the commercial or through the film-festival scene-promoted work in this genre founded by artist Josiane Keller and friends, staged in the city of Asheville, NC, USA.
ABOPevent ran monthly to every three months from 2018 until the onset of COVID19 in spring 2020, and was hosted initially in an alternative pub, then moved to the backstage room of an independent record store.
In total there were 10 screening events showing invitational works and local submissions on walk-in basis via USB stick.
