I am planning an ambitious bar scene for “Cafe Leben”, and to avoid that I crawl under the bed in hiding for the next two weeks I decided to give myself some slack and start with the easiest figure, a street mutt.
Here it is in making:
Josiane Keller “making of a red dog” (2016)
Admittedly so, this looks still more like a salad, but trust me, eventually it will look like a dog:

… the genius of Georg Grosz and the expressionist perspective on life, or rather: life seen from an expressionist perspective (it’s really a question of if you consider yourself inside looking out or outside looking in, I guess, this whole project is trying to propose this question after all….):
Georg Grosz “Selbstmörder /suicide” (1916)
(* If you would like to see this painting live, it is currently owned by the TATE in London.)
