With her first earned money Molly has bought a breathtaking creme coloured silk kimono with floral design. She wore it this time Western style without obi sash (we know she has…), but still looked quite extravagant, mildly put. I can hardly believe such a piece of garment can be bought with salary for just one evening singing at Miyamoto’s, but I didn’t go last Saturday, so what do I know, all is possible, at least for someone like Molly, I suppose.
Starfish must have been impressed too and must have felt gallant because he took Molly out to a Cafe where they have also dance music, sometimes with live music. It’s not outrageously expensive, but usually Starfish has to count every penny to go forwards with his sex change, so I suppose it’s fair to say it was a very special treat. Further even, he is bugging everybody, literally everybody he meets, if they don’t know of any dancing jobs for Molly; in particular ChoCho seems a little annoyed, after he repeatedly explained, he did ask at the Night Cafe, but currently they are having a very successful routine there and the manager does not want to change anything, no matter how talented, because what works works, and he is also managing a second Night Cafe several hours drive from here, although allegedly he promised once he has more time he would give Molly at least an audition. (Not sure if Starfish understands the situation.)
This time Chiaki and me came along, but we sat on a separate table. Admittedly these two are a romantic sight, although I am wondering if Starfish has even a chance against so much femininity in a kimono; whilst Molly was chatting and cheerfully joking as ever, Starfish seemed mainly mesmerized and got all quiet. Watching Starfish more and more melt like a candle by a sunny window over Molly and Molly licking it up like a kitten a bowl of cream I am still expecting Chiaki to loose her temper at any moment, yet, once again, Chiaki acted like it was none of her business at all, chatted with me about this and that, and we danced a few dances and that was it. That girl over and over surprises me, but I am taking nothing for granted in this case.

At the end of the dance Starfish seemed to be literally glowing, but maybe it was just a trick of the light. Then two went over hand in hand to an automatic photo-booth they have in the cafe and made made some memory pictures:
